The Opportunity:
Title: Cloud Automation Consultant
Location: Remote, North America
About the Role:
As a Cloud Automation Consultant at C-S, you will work collaboratively with external customers, guiding them on the use of F5 NGINX technology to implement solutions that solve challenges or meet business objectives. You will provide consultancy and mentorship to customers regarding the implementation of NGINX products. This is a hybrid role that involves remote work and occasional travel to client sites (when COVID-safe). Primary Responsibilities:
· Provide technical mentorship to customers onsite and/or remotely regarding the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of NGINX core products independently or with a team.
· Act as the project lead for systems architecture, solution design, deployment, testing, problem identification, troubleshooting, and documentation.
· Maintain proficiency in F5 products and technologies through self-directed and formal training.
· Collaborate with other teams, including Support, Product Sales, and Professional Services Sales, to deliver strong technical solutions.
· Enjoy a hybrid role involving remote work and occasional travel to client sites (when COVID-safe).
About You:
· Excellent communicator and team player with a positive attitude, ready to build relationships within an efficient remote-working environment.
· Action-oriented problem-solver who thrives on challenges and has a genuine ambition to grow in the role.
· Operational experience working with NGINX Plus products (Controller, App Protect (Obscurity), Ingress Controller, Instance Manager, Lua, NJS) and/or NGINX Open Source.
· Experience in consulting for external customers, focusing on the architecture and design of network or systems infrastructure, performance, and management.
· Proficient in containerization and container management (Docker, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker Swarm) in both on-premise and cloud-based environments (Google Cloud/GKE, MS Azure, AWS).
· Strong Linux experience, including troubleshooting, scripting (BASH), and utilizing tools like CURL, Netstat, TCPdump, TShark.
· Experience using databases.
· Demonstrable understanding of technologies such as firewalling, application availability and security, SSL, web gateways, authentication/authorization, encryption, VPNs, and network architecture.
· Experience using remote logging tools (e.g., Splunk).
· Familiarity with lab tools (e.g., Gitlab, Jira, VMware tools, Docker desktop).
· Proven ability to articulate complex ideas to a wide audience through both verbal and written communication.
· Self-motivated and adaptable to changing environments.
· Strong written communication, presentation writing, project scoping, and user documentation skills.
